Rusty Lawson was born and raised in West Texas, and had ties to the agriculture industry from an early age. His father was a gin manager, his mother was in the ag lending business, and his grandparents were farmers. When he wasn’t helping family in the summers, he worked for farmers in Lynn County. Rusty graduated in May of 1996 from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economic with an Emphasis in Real Estate. He joined Chas S Middleton and Son in November of 1995, and has spent the last 23 years selling and appraising rural farm and ranchland, specializing on rural farmland located in the West Texas area. Rusty is an associate real estate broker and a Texas state certified appraiser.
Rusty lives in Lubbock, TX with his wife of 15 years, Julie, and sons Kylar and Cade. He coaches both boys in baseball and spends much of his spare time at the baseball fields. Rusty enjoys calf roping and training calf horses, and teaching his boys the value of the cowboy way of life where you work hard, always do your best, and a man’s word is his bond.
In a typical year, Rusty will sell 20 to 40 farms and appraise +/- 30 farms. He has knowledge of the West Texas rural real estate market that is only gained through years of hard work.
