Bateman Wichita River Ranch

The Bateman Wichita River Ranch is well located in King County, Texas, just east of the ranch community of Guthrie. This area is home to historic ranches such as the 6666 and Pitchfork, as well as many others.

History

The Bateman Ranch has a long history of ranching, farming and land ownership. The ranch once spanned over 40,000 acres, and this is the last piece of the historic ownership.

Terrain

The ranch has a varied topography that ranges from river bottoms to rugged and steep bluffs with elevations ranging from 1,575' to 1,750'.

Brush is dense over much of the property and cover is generally provided by cedar and mesquite with scattered hackberry trees and some salt cedar along the river.

Water

The ranch offers over 4.5 miles of the Wichita River, which flows through the property from west to east. This flowing river has abundant wildlife populations and offers exceptional winter protection for livestock.
