Background and Experience

Dane Mount graduated from West Texas State University in 1981 with a degree in agricultural business and economics. He competed on the university rodeo team and later in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association through 1990. He also helped establish Vernon College’s rodeo program as its first coach from 1982 to 1984.

From 1984 through 2015, Dane managed Eagle Flat Land & Cattle Company’s cattle, horse, farming, and hunting operations. The ranch encompassed approximately 20,000 acres of owned and leased land.

Brokerage and Ranch Management

Dane obtained his real estate license in 2004 and began selling land with Davis Vernon Real Estate. He became a partial owner in 2006 and majority owner in 2008 before selling the company in 2019.

An associate broker in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, Dane draws on experience ranging from crop production and livestock marketing to ranch improvements and hunting operations when working with buyers and sellers.

Community and Family

Dane served on the Santa Rosa Roundup board from 1997 to 2011, including six years as chairman, and volunteered with local 4-H and FFA projects.

Dane and his wife, Melissa, moved to Marble Falls in 2011. He enjoys spending time with their daughters and grandchildren, as well as hunting, fishing, and golf.
